Furadan 4F Receives FIFRA Section 18 Approval for Aphid Control In Cotton
PHILADELPHIA, PA - Furadan® 4F insecticide-nematicide has received FIFRA Section 18 specific exemption approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for foliar use on cotton to control aphids in the states of Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Furadan 4F can be used early-, mid-, and late-season when populations build to threshold levels. County extension agents may certify that conditions have reached an emergency level on a regional basis. State and county specifics, including aphids-per-leaf treatment thresholds, which trigger Furadan 4F use under the Section 18 labeling can be answered by local extension agents, agricultural chemical retailers, aerial applicators, FMC sales representatives or by calling the FMC Agricultural Products Line toll-free at 1-888-59-FMC-AG.

Furadan 4F, a carbamate insecticide, can be applied by ground or air, but must be applied using a closed mixing and loading system. It must be applied at a rate of 8 ounces of product (0.25 lb. ai) per acre. A maximum of two applications are allowed under this exemption. A 27-day pre-harvest interval must be observed. Anyone applying Furadan¨ 4F should refer to the Section 18 state label for specific application and handling instructions. Furadan 4F is a restricted use pesticide.
