Bayer CropScience and the National Cotton Women's Committee unveiled the recipients of the 2003 Cotton Town USA grants. The three winners Moultrie, Ga., Ropesville, Texas, and Somerville, Tenn. will get $10,000 each to fund community improvement projects. Moultrie, Ga., will work on the completion of Moss Farms Aquatic Center, a diving facility established by cotton farmer Moose Moss. Ropesville, Texas, will put the money toward the preservation of the town's oldest historic building and add handicapped accessibility to the town's gathering place. Somerville, Tenn., will contribute to Fair Theatre's restoration. Cotton Town USA grants are offered annually to places that rely on
cotton production economically and culturally. More than 70 applications
