NETAFIM INTRODUCES IRRIWISE™ WIRELESS CROP MONITORING SYSTEM

MAY, 2004

Fresno, CA Netafim USA, the industry-leading manufacturer of micro-irrigation systems has developed the IrriWise™ Wireless Crop Monitoring System. This system provides continuous monitoring of field sensors such as soil moisture, flow and weather, all without wires. Continuous monitoring is a powerful management tool for growers to know when and how long to irrigate - which results in improved quality, increased yields, and reduction of fertilizer leaching. When equipped with the appropriate sensors, the IrriWise™ System also keeps records of irrigation and fertilizer applications.

The IrriWise™ Operating Principle: Data is transmitted from the field units (transmitters) to the PC using a unique radio and data transfer technology that provides high performance, reliability, and simplicity.

• Field transmitters send the data every 5 to 30 minutes depending on the sensors attached.
• Transmitters and sensors are powered by an internal battery that last 3 to 6 years eliminating
the need for solar panels.
• Repeaters have a 7 mile range and transmitters a 2 mile range.

The IrriWise™ Wireless Crop Monitoring System is easy to install, simple to operate and requires little maintenance.
