With the introduction of the Valley Rainger multi-purpose cart, Valmont Irrigation has advanced its line of linear machines to include more versatility for producers with large rectangular, square and irregular fields. The Valley Rainger cart with auxiliary platform options allows more room for engine and pump configurations, more options for fuel tank combinations and more space for chemigation tank arrangements. The Rainger linear line can use water from either a ditch or a well. Its multi-purpose cart includes options to chemigate, carry a generator or fuel tank, pull a hose drag or pump low-pressure water. For producers who wish to conserve labor costs and convert from flood, side roll or hand move irrigation, the Rainger may provide the best solution as it operates with any existing water sources.

FMC has announced the introduction of Brigade 2EC insecticide to provide broad-spectrum control of stink-bugs, plant bugs, mites and other mid- to late-season pests in cotton. Brigade 2EC, the latest addition to the expanding portfolio of FMC crop protection products, offers an economical option for broad-spectrum control of insect and mite pests in cotton. FMC introduced Carbine 50WG insecticide for the cotton market in early 2006, giving cotton farmers a new mode of action to control plant bugs, aphids and other damaging pests in their fields. In addition, cotton producers have long used Mustang Max insecticide for insect control and Aim EC herbicide for defoliation, burndown and weed control programs on their cotton acres. Brigade 2EC can be foliar applied at recommended rates of 1.3 to 6.4 ounces per acre, depending on the targeted pest. This new insecticide is now available for use and sale in many cotton-producing areas. Contact your local FMC Star
