The Issue
Even though overall cotton acreage has decreased
dramatically in the West because of challenges
involving regulatory issues, water availability and
competition from specialty crops, Pima remains a
bright spot. This cotton, which will surpass upland
acreage in ‘08 in California, remains popular in key
overseas markets.
