COTTON USA Licensee Launches New Collection in Thailand

COTTON USA celebrated its licensee John Henry’s 40th anniversary with an “I Am John Henry” rebrand concept presented through a fashion show and a pop-up store in CentralWorld, a large shopping complex in Bangkok. 

Thailand’s leading celebrities such as Peter Corp Dyrendal, Thitipong Lobpraset, Pongpat Pongpanich, Jarudech Boonyasit, Mashannoad Suvalmas and Piyawat Kempetch presented the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection.

The collection included 168 styles and around 100,000 COTTON USA-licensed pieces. With this launch, John Henry expects its third quarter sales to increase 22 percent as compared to the same period in 2013.

Simple designs with a subtle sense of fashion and a focus on 100 percent cotton fabrics characterized the “I Am John Henry” looks. They appeal to self-assured and stylishly distinctive men who enjoy mixing and matching items to express themselves and their individual lifestyle.

The event attracted 175 reporters from 77 publications and had 28 placements with a total circulation of 12.99 million.

Seminars in South America Target Textile Mills

COTTON USA seminars in Lima, Peru, and Medellin, Colombia, aimed to provide technical tools to improve the quality performance of knit cotton fabrics, favoring the use of U.S. cotton. Cotton Incorporated shared its expertise with participating mills at the seminars.

Sixty-two of the main vertical knitting textile mills in Peru and Colombia participated in the seminars. The 132 participants exchanged ideas with Cotton Incorporated representatives, who shared their expertise on hot topics ranging from shopper's demands, market trends, fabric dimensional stability control and improved fabric appearance properties.

Some of the most significant Peruvian companies in attendance were: Algodonera Peruana S.A.C., Compañía Industrial Romosa S.A.C., Cotton Knit S.A.C., Creditex S.A., Fábrica de Tejidos Algodonera Limeña S.A. – Algolimsa, Filasur C.A., Franky y Ricky S.A., Industria Textil del Pacifico S.A., Tejidos Jorgito S.R.L. and Textil del Valle S.A.

Participating Colombian companies included: C.I. Creytex S.A., C.I. El Globo S.A., C.I. Integrated Apparel Solutions S.A., Colombiana de Hilados Ltd., Crystal S.A.S., Leonisa S.A., Protela S.A., Tejilar S.A., Textiles del Cauca S.A. and Textiles Fabricato S.A.

This event is another example of how COTTON USA and Cotton Incorporated have shared their unique strengths, high quality services, common vision, knowledge of the markets and professional skills to promote and assure the presence of U.S. cotton fiber along the textile supply chain, maximizing long-term relationships with key accounts.

COTTON USA Facebook Reaches German Fans

COTTON USA’s consumer outreach in Germany using Facebook generated 1.5 million consumer impressions and an earned advertising value of $3.2 million in the past eight months.

Six COTTON USA Facebook promotions highlighted COTTON USA apparel and home textile products from German and Swiss COTTON USA partners.

PETRA, a leading consumer fashion magazine, also featured COTTON USA’s cooperation with German womenswear designer Irene Luft on its website.

COTTON USA prize draw activities had 288,048 consumer participants, and the activities added almost 6,000 new fans to the German COTTON USA Facebook site.
