ARKANSAS
It is Oct. 13 as I write this and it is a brisk 92 degrees in Northeast Arkansas, but promises of a weekend cold front is cause for optimism. Cotton harvest in the Natural State has hit the proverbial and literal short rows as a dry fall thus far has led to a speedy and efficient harvest.
Early reports from harvest have been positive and a cause for optimism, but we will reserve the party for the final numbers to be tallied. It has not been the easiest of years in Arkansas. We have endured a harsh summer that refuses to go away. We suffered numerous consecutive days over 100 degrees with even more in the mid-to-upper 90s. Those hot days were accompanied by hot nights and little to no rainfall.
As we begin to wrap up another harvest season, we must once again tip our hat to the farmer who has been dealt a bad hand but has persevered and produced a crop once again. We will forever be indebted to you. As always, please reach out with any questions: [email protected]. Many thanks!
