ICA Signs Agreement With China Cotton Exchange

The International Cotton Assocation (ICA) and the China National Cotton Exchange (CNCE) have signed and exchanged a memorandum of understanding to acknowledge the cooperation between the two industry associations.

Former ICA President Ahmed Elbosaty and CNCE Vice President Baofu Yang signed the agreement during the ICA’s recent trade event in Liverpool, England, where CNCE was a major sponsor.

“This is another milestone for the ICA and one that I am proud to have been part of,” says Ahmed. “Mutual understanding and cooperation are crucial to strengthening international ties. It is a very positive and significant step forward for both associations and our members.”

The agreement will focus on three specific areas of cooperation:

• Applying ICA By-laws in CNCE’s Electronic Trading Platform.
• Sharing technical information.
• Delivering cotton trade and quality testing training.

ICA was established in 1841 and is the world’s leading international cotton trade association and arbitration body. CNCE was founded in 1999, and is the only platform to buy and sell national reserve cotton in China.
