Deltapine To Launch Special Music Video
With the 2013 cotton harvest in full swing, Deltapine has announced the release of the much anticipated official music video to the song, “Where Heroes are Made,” which was written earlier in the year as a special tribute to farmers participating in the Deltapine New Product Evaluator (NPE) program.
The music video, shot on location at the farm of Chuck and Matt Coley in Vienna, Ga., during the 2013 crop season, portrays the hard work, pride and heroism of American cotton farmers.
Interested persons can now view the “Where Heroes Are Made” music video, teaser clips and download the song at www.deltapine.com/heroes. Deltapine will donate all proceeds to a cause that supports the future of
agriculture in rural America.

Bayer CropScience has named the Cotton Belt Challenge winners for top cotton yields and highest quality from either FiberMax or Stoneville cotton seed varieties.
More than 300 producers in 12 regions submitted entries in two categories, irrigated and dryland cotton. Producers were judged for highest cotton yield and highest USDA loan value, as a measure of fiber quality.
The regional winners of each category qualified to be entered into a random drawing for two grand prizes: one for irrigated and one for dryland.
Grand prize winners – Kevin Still of Steele, Mo., and Rondo Farms in Tillar, Ark., – each received a customized 4WD Bad Boy Buggies Ambush vehicle.
Roundup Ready Plus Program To Be Expanded
Farmers taking proactive steps to manage weeds on their farms will have even more incentive to do so in the 2014 growing season, Monsanto has announced. The company has expanded its popular Roundup Ready Plus Weed Management Solutions platform to include additional herbicides for use in cotton and soybeans, has expanded the financial incentives to include Arizona cotton and has increased the number of available products in Texas.
These additional herbicides and incentives – combined with the recommendations of weed scientists, academics and industry partners – help farmers across the Belt develop economical approaches to controlling tough-to-manage weeds.
FFA, Monsanto Will Sponsor New Ag Leaders Program
Monsanto recently announced its launch of the America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders scholarship program, to get students in rural America excited about careers in agriculture. America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, presented by Monsanto in connection with the National FFA Scholarship program, provides rural students the opportunity to earn a $1,500 scholarship to pursue their education.
Each Grow Ag Leaders applicant must have three farmers endorse his or her application. Eligible farmers can also help generate interest in agricultural careers by spreading the word about this scholarship to eligible students in their communities.
