Pertinent Topics For Ginners Will Be Covered At The 2017 Southern Southeastern Annual Meeting

In a recent exclusive interview with Cotton Farming magazine, Kent Fountain, president of Southeastern Cotton Ginners Association Inc., encouraged ginners to attend the Cotton Production and Ginning Seminar breakout sessions. These meetings will be held during the 2017 Southern Southeastern Annual Meeting, Jan. 18-22, in Charlotte, N.C.

“Of particular interest to ginners will be a presentation on contamination, which is a huge issue. We are the most contaminant-free cotton in the world and want to keep it that way,” Fountain says. “We also will have a panel discussion about the John Deere module wrap technology, including best practices to deal with it at the gin.

“Frank Gasparini, National Council of Agricultural Employers (NCAE), Washington, D.C., is on the program to talk about the status of immigration under the Trump administration. This is an important topic that affects our labor pool.”
